Buddhist Art Exhibit at the IACO Annual Luncheon

The theme of this year's IACO annual main event luncheon on Sunday October 26th was Illuminating Tradition: Our Artistic Heritage. The program focused on sharing, celebrating, and coming to a better understanding of the artistic heritage of Central Ohio's eight major faith traditions. As part of this, each of the eight faiths presented art and objects representing their faith. About a dozen of the Buddhist group that are part of Buddhism Central Ohio contributed pieces for our exhibit. More than 200 people attended the event.

Buddhist Book of the Week

Living in Compassion by Bardor Tulku Rinpoche
Living in Compassion is an accessible and practical resource on the Buddhist path, centered around bringing the practice of compassion to everything we do. It begins with a teaching on marriage and relationshilps as seen from a Buddhist perspective, with emphasis on the application of personal discipline and the understanding of karma in our personal and family lives. The second section is a complete, detailed commentary on the 37 Practices of a Bodhisattva , one of the most important Tibetan texts on the path of compassion and wisdom. In the Third Section, Bardor Rinpoche gives a complete teaching on the six perfections , the transcendent qualities of generosity, morality, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom.
